First appointment
Your first appointment should be longer than subsequent sessions. We discuss your problem, symptoms, treatments to date and your medical history.
We build up a picture of your general health including diet, digestion, sleep pattern, energy levels, work and social life. I take your pulse, examine some physical indicators and investigate your emotional state. All of this information collectively informs my diagnosis.
Together we agree a treatment plan, I will always work at a pace that fits in with your expectations and goals.
Follow up
Every time we meet, I review your program and I adapt your treatment accordingly. Depending on your personal preferences and your compliant, we may combine acupuncture with other techniques such as moxabustion, cupping, electro-acupuncture and guasha or Chinese medicine.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an holistic approach to health based on over 2,000 years of development and refinement in Far East. It focuses on improving the overall well-being of the patient, rather than the isolated treatment of special symptoms. The skill of an acupuncturist lies in their ability to make a traditional diagnosis from what is often a complex pattern of disharmony. The exact pattern and degree of disharmony is unique to each individual and following the diagnosis, the acupuncturist puts together a personalised treatment plan.
